President & Executive Chair
Board of Directors
Round Rock Fire Foundation
Diedra Brownell
“When we lost our daughter, Bailey, the love and support from our fire family and community showed us what true strength looks like. This foundation exists to ensure every fire family experiences that same strength and support.”
Diedra Brownell was a founding member of the kitchen-table conversations that became the Round Rock Fire Foundation. As Executive Chair and President of the Board of Directors, she has helped shape the Foundation into a structured organization dedicated to supporting firefighters and their families. She has worked alongside fellow board members to establish the framework necessary for long-term sustainability.
Under the Board’s leadership, the Foundation is actively building the 1884 Benevolent Fund to provide emergency financial assistance to active-duty firefighters and their families.
Diedra’s work reflects her conviction that firefighter readiness and family stability are interconnected. Drawing from years within a fire service household and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, she brings a trauma-informed, family-systems perspective to the Foundation’s commitment to holistic family wellness.
She and her husband, Wylie Brownell, Assistant Fire Chief, continue to advocate for fire service families. Their work honors the legacy of their daughter, Bailey.
